Certainly, this does not happen to everyone and not every day. However, what if you accidentally have discovered an artifact?

According to the legislation of Northern Cyprus, those who find historical, ancient artifacts or things of historical value must immediately report this to the Antiquities Authority and the Department of Museums (Eski Eserler ve Müzeler Dairesi (+90 392) 2272916) or to the nearest police station. Withholding information or failure to report the concealment about found historical values is considered a criminal offense.

The one who finds a valuable artifact is entitled to a reward of 50% of the estimated value of the item. If the item is not of great value, then the reward is not paid.

Purposeful search for historical artifacts or excavations without obtaining permission entails criminal liability.
