Kormaсit
This is the last maronite village in the northwest of Northern Cyprus. Maronites are Catholic Christians of Arab origin who moved here from Lebanon 1200 years ago. Many of them still speak their own dialect of Arabic mixed with Greek and Turkish words. The second name of the village is Korucam.
This is a small but very picturesque village overlooking the blue waves of the Mediterranean Sea. The community is located in a wooded area. This is the place where most of the endemic plants and flowers grow. There are also lots of citric groves.
The village attracts many tourists who come to learn the history of the unique ethnic group in Northern Cyprus, and to look at the architectural heritage and traditions of the people preserved here.
Lefke
The town is located on the western coast of Northern Cyprus, dead south of Guzelyurt. The region is green and leafy, with many groves and gardens. It is very close to the Troodos mountains.
The majority of the population over the past hundreds of years have been composed by Turkish Cypriots. They came here to work in the copper mines. According to the Ottoman census of 1831, they made up 90% of the population.
The landscape of the region is presented by low hills, which are the foothills of the Troodos mountains, descending to the coastline. The beaches are mostly pebble.
The land is very fertile and rich of many natural water reservoirs. Lefke is known for Jaffa oranges, walnuts, dates, plums. The famous walnut festival takes place here at the end of May.
The town is also known for the European University of Lefke, which is recognized by the Higher Education Council of Turkey and the European Union.
The main attractions of the region are the ancient city of Soli, founded in 600 BC, and the Vouni Palace, supposedly built in the 5th century BC.
In the Guzelyurt region, there are attractive real estate units that can be purchased at good prices, most with Turkish Title Deeds.
There are still fewer foreign buyers here compared to other regions of Northern Cyprus.
